Dr. Baxter TMNT

See those dark pencil lines? So easy to work over. May come back to this image to add depth with deeper shadows but as it stands I like it this way.

Baxter and Lunch

Normally I work over inked drawings in Photoshop but I've been having some fun working over pencil. I think I was a little lite with this one but live and learn. Working in value first and adding color through multiply and overlay layers has been very helpful.

Lost in Space

Lost in Space

Added a red sun and other colors
Need to crank up the light and shadow. Cut them story book stars.

Went with a new layout from my 3D mock-ups
I still like to do my line work in pencil

Color comps and lens flare
Did the lens flare as a joke for my teacher (He hates lens flare) but I kind of like it.
Don't judge me too harshly.

I then made a simple 3D mock-up of the part of the ship we can see and played with angle and framing.

Next I redrew are dude to look more like a spaceman. I wanted him to have the look of someone who has been out there for awhile. Even gave him a Go-Gurt.

Started with this image from a life drawing session. Painted some rough scenes around him until I got a story I liked. I went with this deep space scene.
